Payment Policy

Learn about the payment methods, processing, security, and dispute procedures for using the Katos India platform. We ensure secure and transparent transactions.

1. Introduction

Katos India Pvt. Ltd. ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to providing a secure and transparent payment experience. This Payment Policy explains the payment methods we accept, how transactions are processed, and the terms and conditions that apply to payments made through our Platform. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.

2. Accepted Payment Methods

We offer a variety of payment options to make your experience convenient and seamless. The following payment methods are accepted on the Katos India Platform:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and RuPay.
  • UPI (Unified Payments Interface): Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay, and other UPI-enabled apps.
  • Net Banking: Direct bank transfers through supported Indian banks.
  • Katos Wallet: Pre-load funds into your Katos wallet for faster and easier transactions.
  • Cash Payments: Pay directly to the driver in cash for select ride types (subject to availability).

Please note that cash payments are not available for all ride types and may be subject to driver availability.

3. Payment Processing

  • Authorization: When you initiate a payment, we authorize the transaction with your payment provider. This may result in a temporary hold on the funds, which will be released if the transaction is not completed.
  • Transaction Timing: Payments are processed instantly for digital transactions (credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and wallet). Cash payments are settled directly with the driver.
  • Receipts: Upon successful payment, you will receive a confirmation and receipt via email and within the Platform. Please keep this for your records.
  • Currency: All transactions are processed in Indian Rupees (INR).

4. Fare Calculation

Fares on the Katos India Platform are calculated based on the following factors:

  • Base Fare: A fixed initial charge for the ride.
  • Distance: Charges per kilometer based on the route taken.
  • Time: Charges per minute for waiting time or traffic delays.
  • Demand/Surge Pricing: In high-demand periods, fares may increase. The surge multiplier will be clearly displayed before you confirm the booking.
  • Additional Charges: Tolls, parking fees, airport fees, and any other applicable charges will be added to the fare.

You will see a fare estimate before confirming the booking. The final fare may vary slightly due to route changes or additional waiting time.

5. Payment Security

Your payment security is our top priority. We implement robust measures to protect your financial information:

  • Encryption: All payment transactions are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
  • PCI DSS Compliance: We comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for handling card transactions.
  • Tokenization: We use tokenization to securely store your payment details, ensuring that your actual card or bank details are not stored on our servers.
  • Fraud Prevention: We employ advanced fraud detection systems to monitor and prevent unauthorized transactions.

We never store your full credit/debit card number or CVV. All sensitive data is handled directly by our payment partners.

6. Refunds and Reimbursements

  • Refund Processing: Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days from the date of approval. The refund will be credited to the original payment method used for the booking.
  • Partial Refunds: In case of partial refunds (e.g., cancellation fee deduction), the net amount will be refunded.
  • Wallet Refunds: If you have paid using your Katos wallet, refunds will be credited back to your wallet.
  • Cash Payments: Refunds for cash payments are processed through the original payment method used or via bank transfer upon request.

7. Payment Disputes

If you believe a charge has been applied incorrectly, please contact our support team within 7 days of the booking date. To resolve a dispute:

  1. Log in to your account and navigate to the "My Trips" section.
  2. Select the relevant booking and click on "Report Issue."
  3. Provide details of the dispute, including booking ID, amount, and a description of the issue.
  4. Our support team will investigate and respond within 24-48 hours.

8. Promotional Offers and Discounts

  • Promo Codes: You may use promotional codes to avail discounts on your rides. The discount will be applied at the time of payment.
  • Validity: Promotional offers are valid for a limited period and subject to terms and conditions displayed at the time of issuance.
  • Refunds with Discounts: If you cancel a ride after using a promo code, the refund will be adjusted to reflect the discounted amount paid.

9. GST and Taxes

All applicable taxes, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), are included in the fare displayed at the time of booking. The tax amount will be shown separately in your receipt.

10. Wallet Terms

  • Adding Funds: You can add funds to your Katos wallet using any of the accepted payment methods.
  • Wallet Expiry: Wallet funds do not expire and can be used for any future bookings.
  • Withdrawal: Wallet funds are non-refundable and cannot be withdrawn to a bank account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this Payment Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
